'becca's goals for the week

alright, i'll start us out. the week is almost over, but these are the goals for next week:

- 28 minutes of cardio 5 days (i know 28 sounds like a silly number, but i add 2 minutes every week so sometimes the numbers are goofy).

- 56 minutes of cario 1 day (i double my cardio the last day of the week).

- core exercises 6 days - i want to add in some push-ups this weeks. it's not in the program, but i've always wanted to be able to do them, and i'm guessing the best way to it is to try. so i'm aiming to do some 6 days this week as part of my core exercises.

- strength training 3 days - this is my last week before adding in a couple of new strength training exercises.

- stop snacking from the vending machine at work. i've gotten back into my bag o' salt kick mid-morning every day.

let's hear everyone else's goals for next week! if you don't think about it now, you won't set any.

Great goals becca!! What sort of strength training are you doing? I'll be posting my goals for the coming week 1) as soon as I get them written out and 2) when I have some more free time. The first of the month is killer with the billing and crap.

What sort of exercises do you usually do when you feel like working out? I say grab Em, bundle up and go for a walk around the block.

Have a dance party! Or sometimes I pick up a copy of SHAPE magazine or FITNESS magzine and do the workouts in there or find specifically targeted workouts at shape.com or fitnessmagazine.com (there are a lot of websites out there that are helpful). Or you could check out a book or workout video from the library. Do you have direct TV or cable? I watch FIT TV, it has all sorts of workouts from belly dancing to boot camp workouts and everything in between. (you check it out at Fittv.discovery.com) Well, I feel like I said a lot but wasn't very helpful! Sorry! You just have to find something that you enjoy doing and is easy for you do with Em around. She might even enjoy doing it with you, Harrison loves to try exercise with me and it's hilarious which makes it more fun for me! When it's warm out maybe we could walk together.

I have a gazelle I can't do that when Emmalee is awake because I could knock her out but I enjoy that so maybe I will break that out and just excerise when she is in bed. I will post my routine or whatever this weekend.

strength training is not my favorite. i just don't get the "feel good" sensation afterwards that i get from the cario. but right now i'm supposed to be doing squats, lunges, chest press, shoulder press, butterfly, dumbell fly, bicep curls and triceps extensions. i don't have a weight bench, so i put two armless chairs together & have been using that. i do enjoy the feeling in my quads after i do the lunges - going down stairs after those are a lot of fun. i just have a really hard time doing them on the schedule.
