What's the story

I know some of us aren't eating 2 hours or so before bed... but what are the rules on that? If you eat past your allotted time can you just stay up later to make it 2 hours again, or does it not work like that? I usually stay up till 10:30 (usually later, but I would like it to be 10:30) so I try to not eat after 8:30, but if I want ice cream or something I want to wait till the girls are in bed so if I don't get done till 9:00 can I just stay up till 11:00 to make up for it?

that's generally my logic. so at bunco, not a big deal if i'm still eating at 10, because i knew i'd be up until midnight. of course, in the end, you're still taking in extra calories that you probably don't need. but at least you're not taking them in & then immediately going to bed, which makes your body store the calories instead of burning them.

i really need to get back to stopping eating 2 hours before i go to bed.

I have heard the general rule is not after 7:00, no matter what the bedtime. That's a problem when your hubby doesn;t get home until then

i think the 7:00 rule is bogus. I don't even get home until then! You need to make it fit you and your schedule. If you try to go by all the rules out there, you'll never get anywhere. You need to pick a program and make it your own. Tweaking it to fit your schedule.

i think people think the general rule is 7pm because that's Oprah's cut off time not because anyone has actully said that that is the general rule it's just been passed along as that.
